Luna Lovegood's Life

Luna was born on February 13, 1981, into a magical family. She was the only child of her parents, Xenophilius Lovegood and Pandora Lovegood. One might assume that Luna had a nice and peaceful childhood given her good nature and demeanor during her adolescence and adulthood. However, Luna experienced a family tragedy at a young age (9 years old) when her mother Pandora died during an experiment with a new spell. After this tragic event, Luna was raised solely by her father, Xenophilius.

During her Sorting Hat ceremony in her first year, Luna was placed into Ravenclaw, where notable figures such as Gilderoy Lockhart and her classmate Cho Chang also belonged. There is a common misconception that Luna married Neville Longbottom, but this is not true. Luna later became a professor at Hogwarts, where she taught a new subject, Care of Magical Creatures, focusing on the interactions between magical creatures and wizards in the wild. Harry and his wife Ginny later named their third child Lily Luna Potter in honor of Luna.
