Harry Potter Greeting Cards
A card with something in it. The cards with a gift from The Carat Shop hold a metal pin or a keychain behind the insert, so the card is the wrapping and the present at once — Harry, Hermione, Luna Lovegood, Dobby and Diagon Alley designs, plus plain birthday and Christmas cards.

Cards with a gift inside
These are the ones worth knowing about. Each card has a metal pin badge or a small keychain mounted inside, which means a single envelope carries both the message and the present. For a birthday posted rather than handed over, it solves the whole problem.
- Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Luna Lovegood and Dobby — character cards with a matching pin.
- Diagon Alley — the shopping street design.
- Winter Hogwarts — the Christmas version with a gift inside.
- Birthday and Christmas cards — snowy owl and other wizarding designs, without a gift.
Posting a card with a pin in it
A card with a metal pin inside is thicker and heavier than a plain card, which is worth remembering at the post office: it may fall into a higher postage band or need a padded envelope rather than the card’s own. Hand-delivered it makes no difference at all, and that is how most of these get given.
Which card for which occasion
The character cards suit a birthday where you know the recipient’s favourite — the pin makes it personal without needing a bigger present. The Winter Hogwarts card works as a Christmas card that also counts as a small gift, which is useful for colleagues and neighbours. The plain cards are for when the real present is separate and the card only has to carry the message.
The pins are small metal parts. Cards with a gift inside are not suitable for children under three.
